The Watauga County Public Library is proud to participate in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (V.I.T.A.) program. V.I.T.A. is an I.R.S. grant supported initiative which offers free income tax help to people making $53,000 a year or less. All volunteer tax preparers are certified and have received training to prepare basic tax returns.

Services Are By Appointment Only!

SERVICE HOURS:
  • Fridays (Beginning Feb. 6th) from 3-6

  • Saturdays (Beginning Feb. 7th) from 9-12

LAST DAY OF SERVICE: April 11th
NOT AVAILABLE EASTER WEEKEND.


Qualification Requirements:
  1. Income must be $53, 000 or below.

  2. If you are currently a member of the military, clergy, or a small business owner, you do not qualify for V.I.T.A.. Although if you are self-employed with $10,000 or below in expenses, you do qualify for V.I.T.A..

  3. If you have a tobacco settlement and/or farm, you do not qualify for V.I.T.A..
